With the help of the international, national, and local film communities, TCFF has the largest schedule yet! Featuring both full-length and short films, 120 films will be shown on the silver screen.

Here are some films from this year's lineup:

A New High

The film kicking off Twin Cities Film Fest 2015 aims to inspire with the adventurous documentary A New High. Through perseverance and support, these homeless and recovering addicts from Seattle push themselves to climb Mt. Ranier, as well as overcome their own personal obstacles.

From Paolo Sorrentino, the director of Italy’s Oscar foreign language winner The Great Beauty brings Youth to the Twin Cities Film Fest. During a vacation to the Swiss Alps, two longtime friends, played by Michael Caine and Harvey Keitel, find that some of the most important experiences can come later in life.

Too Late

Minnesota-native and Academy Award Nominee John Hawkes makes his first appearance at Twin Cities Film Fest as a private investigator who must track down the whereabouts of a missing woman from his own past. With stunning cinematography, Too Late tells the story of a missing woman, but paints the portrait of a lost man.

Twin Cities Film Festival will also be honoring John Hawkes with the Northstar Award of Excellence.

The 33

With the collapse of a 100-year-old gold and copper mine, the eyes of the world turn to Chile, where 33 miners had been buried alive. Starring Antonio Banderas and Juliette Binoche, the story of resilience, personal transformation and triumph of the human spirit, The 33 takes us to the Earth’s darkest depths, revealing the psyches of the men trapped in the mine, and depicting the courage of both the miners and their families who refused to give up.

Thank You For Playing

Closing out Twin Cities Film Festival 2015, Thank You For Playing portrays a touching story of how a father celebrates his son through the gift and art of virtual life. When one-year-old Joel is diagnosed with terminal cancer, his father Ryan begins working on an unusual and poetic video game to honor Joel’s life.

About TCFF

While our headliner event is an annual film festival in October – the Twin Cities Film Fest is a year-round 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization. We strive to have at least two events every month, one of them being our monthly Insider Series. Other events include industry workshops, educational events, and TCFF Members-Only Screenings.

We believe in the revival of film art for mainstream audiences.
TCFF is the gateway for movie lovers into the deep well of American Independent Cinema. The original film-art we showcase starkly contrasts the increasingly formulaic blockbuster that falls flat with sophisticated audiences.

We believe in the Minnesota Film Artist.
The high caliber film talent found in Minnesota deserves a nationally visible platform.  TCFF is dedicated to the cultivation of local filmmakers by providing educational resources to expand skill sets, networking with the national film industry, and nurturing distribution opportunities.

We believe in changing the world through film.
No medium provokes discussion and evokes empathy more than film. TCFF programming is replete with diverse voices that challenge the status quo and shift perceptions.  Socially responsible programming pushes our audience to make an individual difference in their community and positively shape society.
